Castro
Castro is a mixed-use project located on the corner of Castro Street and El Camino Real, the “gateway” of Mountain View. Castro purports to address many concerns facing the city of Mountain View and its residents today.
Castro will provide 100+ new condominiums (currently being modeled as such), including units earmarked for affordable housing, in an area that currently has a limited housing supply. There are plans to replace revitalize parkland space for the neighboring communities, so that all residents may enjoy the development’s contributions. The project is environmentally conscious at its core, offering sustainable design, and public parking with EV charging stations, among other benefits.
Centralized in the Silicon Valley, Castro provides convenient and walkable access to various amenities, retail and restaurants, and short commutes to some of the world’s largest companies such as Google, Apple, and Meta. With its prime location and pedestrian appeal, Castro connects to a wide variety of services without the burden of increased parking and traffic, delivering an additional benefit of reduced carbon emissions.
DISCLAIMER: This is a conceptual design and has not been submitted to, discussed with, or reviewed by the City of Mountain View. Project is subject to change. Illustrations are for visualization purposes only and reflect what we envision this project to be like. The current concept designed with the help of the community, proposes closing 60 yards of Hope Street to traffic and keeping it open to pedestrians and bicycles to create a walkable community.
